Italian
Ciao!
That’s how our Italian teacher Rita Impiumi greets us in the morning. For one week it’s like I’m learning Italian. And what could I say… it’s really difficult. Obviously more difficult than German is. For me in any case. Of course because I’m tedesca (that means that I’m German).
But I’m not the only one who learns Italian. People of Poland, the Netherlands, Belgium and England sit next to me and try to follow the lesson. Only the Italian people are not there. Actually the lessons would be too hard for them. They wouldn’t understand anything. ;)
Our teacher is really great. In the first lesson she shows us how to start with a talk.
Here some examples for you to try it:
Elisa: “Ciao, sono Elisa. Piacere.”
Patricia: “Buongiorno Elisa. Mi chiamo Patricia, piacere mio. Come stai?”
Elisa: “Bene, grazie. E tu?”
Patricia: “Oh, non c’è male. Dove vivi?”
Elisa: “Io vengo da Vicenza. E tu?”
Patricia: “Io sono tedesca.”
Elisa: “Okay, devo andare. Ciao, a presto.”
Patricia: “Ciao!”
And here is the translation:
Elisa: “Hello, I’m Elisa. Nice to meet you.”
Patricia: “Good morning Elisa. My name is Patricia, nice to meet you too. How are you?”
Elisa: “I’m fine, thank you. And you?”
Patricia: “Oh, it’s okay. Where do you live?”
Elisa: “I live in Vicenza. And you?”
Patricia: “I’m German.”
Elisa: “Okay, I’ve to go. Good-bye, see you later.”
Patricia: “Good-bye!”
So you can try to have a talk now.
All in all it was really great to learn some Italian words. I wouldn’t say that my Italian is perfect now, but nearly ;)
Arrivederci!
Patricia
