Music
We, Lena and Lea, took part in the music workshop in Lincoln during ROTA. It was a great experience and we had a lot of fun! During the first days we were busy practicing our performance for Friday night which consisted of Taiko drumming and singing. It was nice to get the chance to play instruments one has never played or even seen before. Another thing we really liked was that everyone had a chance to play a part in the performance, no matter what the musicianship was like. Seeing everyone participating, having fun and wanting to give one’s best created a feeling of togetherness. It was easy to make new friends since we all had the same interests. Another highlight was playing the steal drums at the university. Although it was very loud and chaotic, the final outcome was amazing and it felt like being in the Caribbean. All of this showed us what one can achieve with only two sticks, a drum, your voice and a group of crazy people in four days.
